Cut by Patricia McCormick

I have recently read the book Cut for the second time. It is a wonderful book, really good story line and wonderful morales. I love this book, it is very realistic. The main character is Callie, a.k.a. S.T. Her strength is her determination and her weakness is just the same. She is a cutter and she has to go to Sea Pines. She has to talk to a counselor and she doesn't start talking until a good portion of the books. The counselor she talks to is a well dressed, curious shrink. She does everything a counselor would but Callie and her connect. Callie eventually starts talking and everything changes. She goes from a silent cutter to well, you'll have to read to find out what she becomes.

Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing! I will have to check that book out sometime, along with the Twilight series...

OMG! I loved that book! It was totally awesome! :D My favorite part was the end while she was just running, and she kept going and going, I totally would have gotten tired after five minutes.

ok. two votes for that book. maybe I'll just have to check it out myself. I almost went back to rereading the twilight series, but I knew once I started them, i would have to read them all over agian. And I didn't want to do that, because it would just make me made with Jacob reentering my mind. So I'm looking for a good book right. If you have any suggestions...

This one is also on my list! We had a copy of the book for the trailer, but I think that it was so good someone didn't want to leave it here. The characters seem very real and easy to connect with. Why do you suppose an author decides to tackle such a difficult/touchy subject? Do you think that writing explicitly about cutting encourages or discourages troubled teenagers? Just curious about your perspective. I am glad you enjoyed the book!

To Mrs. Pingrey,
I think this book encourages cutters to stop and I think it encourages poeple to get over there own personal obsticles.
