Bogging?

I liked blogging, I thought it was actually kinda fun. I think I wouldn't really do this outside of school but for a school project it was fun and interesting. There's nothing that I really didn't like about it, I mean there's nothing really to dislike. I think blogging was fun and it was a good way for us to do our work and get points. So I would say blogging was fun and I liked it a lot more than some of the other projects I've had to do in school.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This week I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I really like this book. The important characters are Charlie, who is the boy who is writing the letters and who is shy and somewhat of a loner until he meets Sam and Patrick. Sam is Charlie's crush and Patricks step-sister. She is outgoing, pretty and laid-back. Patrick aka Nothing is even more laid back, "cool" and easy going.

This book is placed in many different places. He is mostly at school or at home. When he is at school he mostly talks about the classes and the outside where Sam and Patrick smoke. If he talks about the house, he usually talks about his bedroom or the living room where his entire family meets and watches t.v.

This book, to give you a quick over-view, is about a boy, Charlie, as an odd highschooler. Dealing with the everyday drama of girls, family and friends. Learning how to change from a "wallflower" to a man.

If I could, I would read this book. It is a different book. At times it can get somewhat "graffic" and can go into extreme details, but it is written like a boy writing letters. It's a different way to write. This book is funny yet devastating and it's very realistic. It's not like Chbosky is making it up but like Charlie really did write these letters. This book is like your a friend of Charlie's and he's telling you about his week. It's an interesting read.

Untamed by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Quote 1: On page 105 by P.C. and Kristin Cast, authors of the book Untamed says "He'd lost his sarcastic semi-smile and the look he was giving me wasn't an obsessive let's-see-how-weird-Zoey-really-is expression." I liked this quote beacause I love how she describes things, such as facial expressions.

Qoute 2: On page 118 by P.C. and Kristin Cast, authors of the book Untamed says "Red tears silently washed his face, and he became utterly still." I like this qoute because it's so powerful and meaningful. I love her descriptions and I really felt how Zoey (the main character) was feeling.

Qoute 3: On page 185 P.C. and Kristin Cast, authors of the book Untamed says "his voice was sharp, as if he'd sliced each word from his soul." I thought this qoute was important, it showed a major character change in Heath (Zoey's ex-boyfriend) and it showed amazing detail and description.

Untamed by P.C. and Kristin Cast

I am reading Untamed by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. So far I really like this book, I wouldn't have change anything about this book but there is one thing I would have liked to add. If I could I would like the book to inlcude something more about Aphrodites and Stevie-Raes time away from the school. I would want this because and Stevie-Rae so not get along so I would like to see the conflict between them. I would make it like a re-cap, almost like a memory. I think it would make the book better because if you read the third book they don't get along but now they are friends. I think it would make the book stronger by knowing what happened.

Violet and Claire by Francesca Lia Block

In the book, how Violet uses film to escape her life reminds me a lot of how I use books to get away. Violet sees everything in scenes and all the people are actors and actresses. She wants to be a director and so she escapes real life and thinks of everything as scenes in her movie. Whenever anything goes bad in my life I can slip into a good book and get swept away into a different place, time and person. Therefore I can see how and why Violet is so obsessed with movies so I can relate to the main character, Violet.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd by Heather Brewer

This week I have read the book The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd. This book was not very good, quite boring. It is confusing about the time in which the book takes place, which makes it hard to follow.

I just can't seem to be entertained by this book, I can't get hooked. I easily loose interest and I can't concentrate. Recently, just to get through the book, I have been skimming through it.

There is no vivid language and only every once and while does this book give me a vivid image of whats happening.

I have to say that this is not one of my favorite books, and I would have to give it, on a scale from one to ten, and five and a half.

Vibes

I read a book Vibes. It was a good book, and it kept me entertained. Vibes had many different places and times, it was a good book for a good setting. This book has a different places (i.e. Her School, a.k.a. Journey's, her house, which is huge, and he Aunts house) Her mother is a surgeon and she makes a lot of money. She makes enough to live in a nice house in a nice suburb, really close to her Aunts, not so nice, suburb. The times in this book, show her life from the minute she wakes up to minute she goes to bed.

Her school is a place of free creativity; it has a lot of trees, grass, rocks. In this school they call there teachers by there first name, and all there classrooms are called a different name. This school is like a hippie school (no offense to hippies) :D

Setting is important because it shows us about the character, there personality and there lifestyle.
